Posted by Sami Ciotka at Sep 23, 2020 4:45PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

NOHA is allowing 2002 born players to register for hockey this season. If you are interested in playing please register ASAP so we can determine how many are interested. Players will either play on the U18 team, if there is room, or if there is enough interest we may have an U21 (Juvenile) team.

To Register: We are using Hockey Canada’s online registration which can be accessed using the following link:

Registration tip!

Posted by BLIND RIVER MINOR HOCKEY at Sep 11, 2020 5:50AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

*Please ensure that you checkout when registering to officially register the player. This will not bring you to payment of fees, instead will show you the fees for each player.

Although we are still working through uncertain times we are moving ahead with our online registration for the upcoming season. It has been brought to our attention that it’s possible our arena may not open this season and due to this uncertainty we will NOT be collecting any registration fees at this time. If collected, fees will remain the same as last year for all players who return last seasons jerseys (Timbits excluded). For any unreturned jerseys a $90 replacement fee will either be attached to the registration fee or billed to the player, if not returning this year.

We are using Hockey Canada’s online registration which can be accessed using the following link:

When registering, a new account will need to be created and each player will have to be entered into your account. Any player who has registered with our Association in the past should show up with the players name and date of birth. If they do not show up in the Hockey Canada system, please email with the players name, their date of birth and their Hockey ID# can be forwarded. Please register as soon as possible.

For those who wish to share their desire to see the arena open we encourage you to reach out to our Town Council:

We appreciate your patience as we continue to navigate through challenging times. Please share this information with anyone you may know who does not access Facebook and please direct them to our website for information at:
Best Regards,

ANNOUNCEMENT: 2020-2021 Season

Posted by BLIND RIVER MINOR HOCKEY at Aug 11, 2020 6:23PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hello Hockey Fans: Normally this time of year we would be letting you know when the season would be starting, practice times, etc. Unfortunately we do not have enough information at this time to tell you when the season will be starting, what it will look like, or even how much it will cost. Our executive has been in contact with the NOHA and OHF on numerous occasions trying to determine when we can safely start hockey. BRMHA will be following all guidelines put out by the NOHA/OHF/HC and Algoma Public Health. All we can say at this point is that there will be hockey sometime this fall and we will likely be playing in the CAHL again for all age groups.
With that said, we need to determine if we need to host an AGM. We would normally have had that meeting near the end of May but obviously due to the pandemic restrictions, we could not do that. We have an AGM for two main reasons: 1) to adopt new changes to the constitution; 2) to elect a new executive.
This year there are no changes to the constitution. So we would only need to have an AGM to elect a new executive. Therefore, we are asking if there is anyone who would like to stand for any of the 5 elected executive posts (Secretary/Registrar; Treasurer, President, 1st VP, 2nd VP). If you are interested in being elected for any of these positions please email: If there is interest, we will have an AGM to complete the elections. If there is no one interested in being elected, we will not have an AGM and the current executive will sit for one more season.
If you believe we should have an AGM regardless of the need to hold elections, please let us know through the email address above. If there is enough interest in having an AGM, then we will host one. Please note that at this time we have no information regarding the upcoming season to share at the AGM. As we get information we will share it here or on our website which will be running soon.
As for registration, we will be starting that process in the next week or so. We will announce when you can register your favourite players. This year we will be using the HC on-line registration process and we have also set up the ability to pay by e-transfer. These new additions will make registration so much easier for all involved.
Regarding cost of registration, we are hoping and are expecting to keep the cost the same as last year. However, depending on the number of registrations and the anticipated restrictions that may be put in place, we may require a lot more ice time and therefore may need to increase the cost of registration. Once we have registration numbers and receive more information on how the season will proceed, we will know if we need to increase costs.
If you have outstanding registration fees from last season, please pay asap. Your child will not be able to play this year until last year’s fees are paid up.
Thank you for your understanding and being patient as we work towards the safe return to hockey. Please watch here or our Facebook page for upcoming news and information.
